The Turtlewatch excursion takes place in small groups with a German- or English-speaking crew (depending on your language) and respectful interaction with nature. Pick-up is from your holiday hotel around 6 p.m. You'll begin with fascinating information about sea turtles and then have the opportunity to witness their egg-laying up close.

Description
The turtlewatching excursion is conducted in small groups, mindfully and sustainably, with respect for nature.We work directly with the Cape Verdean Nature Conservation Authority and receive permission from them to conduct excursions to certain beach areas.The majority of the tour fee is donated to the Nature Conservation Authority and used to protect the breeding grounds on the beaches.Our guides are certified and have extensive knowledge, which is conveyed in an engaging and comprehensive manner.
Pick-up will take place around 6 p.m. from your holiday hotel.After approximately an hour's drive, we will reach the beach area. Once there, you will receive interesting information about the sea turtles in German.We will look for hawksbill turtles for you, and as soon as they are spotted, the turtle's position will be reported via radio.Then we set off and can carefully approach the turtles.We will walk a few meters along the beach, which requires a certain level of physical fitness.Ideally, we will witness the entire egg-laying process up close.Cameras are permitted, but please do not use flash or any bright light.Depending on when we observe the first turtles or the first eggs being laid, we will return to your hotel between 11 p.m. and midnight.Please wear closed shoes, wear light, long clothing, and remember mosquito repellent.Please also bring something to drink.

Important to know
- Remember to wear dark, comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.
- Off-road driving is not recommended for pregnant women or people with back problems.
- Cameras are permitted, but no bright lights or flashes.
- Not suitable for people with limited mobility.
- Please send us a short WhatsApp message after your arrival at your hotel on Boavista with the booked tour, the date of the tour, your hotel, and your room number. This will allow us to optimally prepare your tour. Thank you!
Please understand that booked tours cannot always take place on your desired date. In some cases, a rescheduling may occur, which we will, of course, coordinate closely with you. Last-minute bookings with a tour start within 48 hours can only be processed subject to our staffing and scheduling capabilities.
