The term "animal shelter" does not do justice to this well-structured facility!
Spartakus and Nathalie built this “refuge” with private funds and are dependent on donations!
This lovingly built animal boarding facility with clinic is located in the industrial area of Boa Vista and gives orphaned, neglected, sick and abused animals a new, loving home.
It is also the only animal shelter on the island and gives animals a second chance!

The animals that come to the shelter can no longer care for themselves, have been injured, for example hit by a car, or simply left lying there and would die without outside help. There are currently around 80 animals living in the shelter.
There is a boarding house for cats in the north of Boavista, run by the Spaniard Adrian Jaume.
The dogs live outside in kennels and have an area where they can move around freely. Awnings provide shade.

Many holidaymakers know the situation of beach dogs and this is finally the place where the animals are helped!
There are also regular castration campaigns in cooperation with the veterinary pool, where dogs and cats in the hotels and, of course, wild animals on Boavista are collected and treated.
