Help for Boavista
Who is that?
a non-profit organization that supports the people on the Cape Verde Islands, especially on Boa Vista, with donations in kind and money. The organization was founded for this purpose in September 2017.
First, several packages with donations in kind were sent to Boa Vista, where they are distributed to needy children and families by a friend (club member) who lives there.
Nowadays, sea containers are used to support kindergartens, schools and those in need on Boa Vista with donations.

What can you do?
We need your support in the form of donations in kind such as clothing for babies, children and teenagers, sneakers, football boots, school supplies, satchels, backpacks, pens, toys, puzzles, stuffed animals, bicycles, scooters, balance bikes, Bobby cars, hygiene products, toothbrushes, toothpaste, bar soap, wheelchairs for children, wheelchairs for adults and much more.
Of course, we are also happy to accept monetary donations.

Why?
Boa Vista is one of ten islands in the Cape Verde Islands. In some villages, the population of Boa Vista has neither electricity nor running water. Unfortunately, climate change is not stopping at such islands and for this reason the island is becoming increasingly dry. In 2016, it only rained for 6 hours in the whole year.
Without water there is no agriculture, without agriculture there is no production of food. So everything has to be imported by ship. For many people on Boa Vista the imported goods are almost unaffordable. Many parents cannot afford school fees and school uniforms for their children.
For these reasons, we want to help. The joy the children feel when they receive little gifts is reward and motivation enough to keep going.
